Hungary Day 3

On our third day in Hungary we wanted to visit Lake Balaton. It is the largest lake in Europe I read somewhere, but don't quote me on that. We spent the morning traveling to different train stations trying to figure out which one took us to lake balaton. Eventually our train came and we boarded only to realize about a half hour in that we were on the wrong train haha. We hopped off at the next stop and got on a train back to Budapest. We then found the right train and took it to a city south of Budapest which is when we boarded this lovely train (see picture below)

I wish I had takena picture of the outside of this train. It was so old and rickety I thought for sure it was going to go off of the tracks. Luckily we made it to our destination.

A few pictures of the gorgeous Hungarian countryside. This may have been one of my favorite parts of the trip. We would pass by these little old towns and there was always an incredibly beautiful old church in the center of each town. It was amazing.

Out first glimplse of Lake Balaton. It was huge!

A fun little train station.

We stopped at Balaton Fured. I looked it up online and it was supposed to be one of the best places to stop. The water was freezing so we didn't go swimming, although there were people in the water.

 There were so many sailboats.

 Looking "great" in this selfie

The train we took on our way back to Budapest. We accidentally sat in first class and some train worker came and escorted us back to coach and then glared at us every time he passed by. While we were waiting for this train a lady came to ask us for help with the train schedule which we knew nothing about so we told her we couldn't help, and then the guy sitting behind us called us "stupid Americans"

We stopped here for dinner after we got back into Budapest and had some AMAZING crepes!

The Parliment lit up at night.
